ETSAB meeting points

Forbo Student Challenge 2024.

In the optional subject of the GArq ETSAB Arquitectura interior, 5 intervention projects were proposed in places of the ETSAB that without being offices, classrooms or meeting rooms, have become meeting points for the users of the building. Two main dynamics or functionalities were applied to each of these projects: receiving, moving, connecting, concentrating...

In these meeting points, the activities that are carried out are not necessarily work, such as talking, resting, distracting. They are spontaneous activities that can be produced in corridors, hallways, corners or crossing points, which have become places with their own character. The design of these interiors can contribute to these spaces becoming dynamic, quiet, attractive or paused places for the users of the building.

In this school it is essential that real practices are part of the academic training of the students, that is why thanks to the agreement between the ETSAB and the FORBO brand, real cases have been worked on that have allowed the students to propose improvements in the spaces of the school and at the same time have allowed the company to publicize the applicability of its products.

The winning project was the one proposed by the Group 3, formed by the students: Bruno Domínguez, Sofía Martín, Sofia Perdomo and Leandro Pilligua. 

The project was coordinated by the professor of the Department Judit López, together with other teachers and professionals: Isabel Crespo, Lluís Ferrer Ayuso, Ferran del Río, Marijke Griffioen, Dorothé Kessels.
