Introduction

The Department of Architectural Technology of the UPC was created in July 2015, for the fusion of departments Architectural Technology I and Architectural Structures. This   carries teaching and research in the Architectural Schools of Barcelona and Sant Cugat del Vallés.

The general level of knowledge contemplated by Department is analysis, implementation and sustainable development of the arts, sciences, techniques and building the right architecture.

The undergraduate degrees and taught mainly in the Department of Architecture of Schools ETSAB and ETSAV.  The areas of expertise departmental follows:

  • Architectural Technology
  • Architectural Structures  
  • Conditioning and Services
  • Legal Architecture and management
  • Mathematical Architecture  
  • Architectural Restoration and Rehabilitation

The education profile expected by the Department involves three basic objectives:

  • Provide students the knowledge and technical materials necessary for the development of their projects.
  • Provide the future architect with the knowledge and tools necessary technical and derived from the right to a proper construction, rehabilitation and refurbishment of buildings and urban facilities.
  • Open channels of optionality for future specialists in multiple fields working by the Department.

 All these objectives are achieved in theoretical, practical and workshop under laboratory (in cooperation with the Department of Projects) trying to get a balance between conceptual and empirical aspects more visual and those of a more markedly analytical and physical - mathematical.
